TR0917 : Railway line across the shingle, Dungeness

taken 7 years ago, near to Lydd-on-Sea, Kent, England

Railway line across the shingle, Dungeness
Railway line across the shingle, Dungeness
At Dungeness, the southern terminus of the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, the railway line forms a reversing loop, which removes the need for locomotives to run round their trains or be turned at the terminus. This view is from a Down train which has just entered the loop, showing the line from Dungeness just south of the divergence, with the old lighthouse and the nuclear power station in the distance.
