Grinton Lodge Youth Hostel
Grinton Lodge Youth Hostel
Grinton Lodge on the edge of Harkerside Moor above Reeth in Swaledale is a good example of one of the attractions of 'youth hostelling', an interesting building with character. Grinton Lodge was built as a hunting lodge for James Fenton in the earlier 19th century, it has been a youth hostel since 1948 and I am pleased to see it is still open at the time of uploading this picture.
