Ynysbwllog Aqueduct crossing the River Neath
Ynysbwllog Aqueduct crossing the River Neath
Ynysbwllog Aqueduct on the Neath Canal, where the canal crosses the River Neath. This structure replaces the original aqueduct which was partially washed away in a flood in 1979. At 32 metres in length it is the longest single span aqueduct constructed in the UK and was completed in 2008 at a cost of £1.8 million. See SN8001 : Footbridge over the River Neath at Ynysbwllog for the now removed remains of the original aqueduct, as well as SN8001 : Ynysbwllog Aqueduct and SN8001 : Rebuilding Ynysbwllog Aqueduct which show the construction of the new aqueduct.
