SK4333 : Bridge over the former Derby Canal

taken 7 months ago, near to Draycott, Derbyshire, Great Britain

Bridge over the former Derby Canal
Bridge over the former Derby Canal
Built probably as part of the unemployment relief schemes of the 1930s as an improvement to the main Derby Nottingham A52, now the A6005. The former canal towpath has been developed as a walking route between Derby and Sandiacre. The footpath has clearly been re-aligned slightly since Peter Shone's 2005 view LinkExternal link
