Central Tramway, Scarborough, Yorkshire
Central Tramway, Scarborough, Yorkshire
At one time Scarborough had no less than five funiculars. Three facing the South Sands and two on the North Sands.
This one and one other on the South Beach side of Scarborough at The Spa still remain open today.
The Cliff Bridge Tramway was closed in 2004 due to running costs.
The two on the North Beach were near Alexandra Gardens (closed 1996) and Queens Hotel (closed 1887).
