The Lovelace Bridges Trail
This metal map is on a stone pillar in the Green Dene Car Park by Sheepleas. The brick and flint arched bridges (10 of 17 remain)were built to aid the horse-drawn carts in the local timber industry. Lord Lovelace lived in Horsley where many of the buildings are built in a bewildering architectural array of brick and flint styles.
