Cromwell's Castle from Braiden Rock Tresco
On the coastal path from the ferry landing at New Grimsby, the path can be seen following the shore line to the castle. The castle was built after the English Civil War by Cromwell as the islands remained royalists, by cutting supply routes the garrison on St Mary's soon capitulated.
