Compared with TR3140 : Construction of a navigational cut, there is now just an isolated block of half buried piles to be driven further into the ground, on the further side of the cut.
Planning permission has been granted by Dover District Council, under application number DOV/16/01305, for the “modification of legal agreement (under S.106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990) to planning permission DOV/98/00334, to allow for the removal of 20 off-street residents parking spaces (to facilitate (a) navigational cut between Dover Harbour and Wellington Dock under the Dover Western Docks Revival Scheme). TR3140 : Dover Western Docks The view hasnt changed much in 20 years - except for the lack of ferries or hovercrafts sadly.
I guess the Chunnel has had a big effect on Dover Western - a previous post in the last week or so mentioned ferries no longer run from Folkestone now.
Glad to see the lighthouse cafe still there in the centre - at least that's safer from passing ferries now :)
