SZ6285 : Sandstone pinnacle, Yaverland

taken 7 years ago, near to Yaverland, Isle of Wight, England

Sandstone pinnacle, Yaverland
Sandstone pinnacle, Yaverland
This is where the Ferruginous Sands of Red Cliff meet a lower layer of Atherfield Clay, creating landslides of one over the other. The base of the outlying pinnacle is eroded at high tides, meaning the feature is unlikely to last too long.
