Choppy seas by East Pier
Choppy seas by East Pier
The piers protecting Whitby harbour were built in 1831 to the design of Mr Francis Pickernell, engineer to the Harbour Trustees. Extensions to the piers were added later, one of which can be seen to the right of the light. It was once attached to the stone pier by a bridge.
