The House of the Binns is the only National Trust for Scotland property that is still home to the family (the Dalyell family) whose ancestors first built it in the early 17th century. The mansion sits in a commanding hillside location overlooking a natural parkland landscape. Extensions to the mansion took place in the late 17th and early 19th century.
