These properties are on what used to be the main road from Basingstoke to Reading. Now that a new dual carriageway road has been built to the south of this one, this road, still called Reading Road, is quiet and mainly residential. A few properties have business use, including Tiltmans power tools (centre of this photograph) and Willowdene Nursery (on the left of this photograph).
