St John the Baptist, Lower Strensham
The church is isolated and overlooks the River Avon with the former school and vicarage for elegant company. Now in the good care of the Churches Conservation Trust, the humble exterior completely belies the wonders within. The 15th century west gallery is a major treasure, being painted with 22 apostles and sundry saints. It may have been the former rood screen, despite the fact that it clearly would not fit the chancel. Whatever its origin, it is unique in Worcestershire.
