St Mary, Byton
St Mary, Byton
The workings of the War Memorial clock on the Western gable. Four men died in the Great War (one buried in the churchyard), and a further three did not return from 1939-45. In a tiny parish like this, that represents a huge sacrifice. The clock keeps perfect time and chimes beautifully each quarter of a hour.
