Steam engines being restored
Steam engines being restored
This is a secure private site that is home to a company specialising in pumps and sewage treatment. The owner is a former marine engineer and invited me to see his work in progress. The big lump on the right is a Lobnitz inverted vertical triple expansion engine from the former Preston steam suction dredger Robert Weir. See - NH6546 : SS Robert Weir, Invernessand TR2460 : Preston Court. The much smaller engine is a W H Allen inverted vertical compound that apparently came from a museum in the north of England.
