Swan Street
Swan Street

Swan Street is part of the westbound A665 LinkExternal link Ahead is Miller Street leading around Victoria Station towards Cheetham Hill. Left is Shudehill leading to the transport interchange there and the Arndale Centre. Today however all roads around Victoria Station and the Manchester Arena are closed off following a bomb attack which killed 22 people and injured many others. All traffic must for now turn right on to A664 Rochdale Road.

The large building in the background is One Angel Square, the new headquarters of the Co-operative Society.
A665 Road
A 12 mile long road from Breightmet to Manchester.
Before the motorways, the A665 relieved the main A56 south into Manchester, and provided an alternative for traffic heading to the city centre (there is still a sign on the A56 south which shows the A665 as "Manchester City Centre East"). Since the M60/M62, probably less important, but the lower section, Cheetham Hill Road, still forms part of the main, signed route into Manchester when coming from the east on the M62.
A664 Road
The A664 runs 12 miles from Manchester to the northern side of Rochdale, forming an easterly bypass around Rochdale. It has two spurs in and near Castleton, one (the original route of the road, to the original terminus) to meet the A58 at Sudden, and the other (Edinburgh Way) to meet the A58 about 100 yards northeast of the first location, meeting the A627(M) on the way.
One, Angel Square :: SJ8499
One Angel Square is the twenty first century landmark building, in Manchester, which serves as the head office of the Co-operative Group. Construction of One Angel Square was originally scheduled for completion in September 2012 however opening was postponed until 2013 due to delays.

The building is the first phase of 53° NOMA an £800 million mixed-use redevelopment project focusing on revitalising an area of 22 acres to the north of Manchester city centre; an area which has not undergone the large scale redevelopment seen in other central areas of the city.

The branding 53° NOMA was chosen because 53° is the latitude co-ordinate for the area. NOMA is thought to have been chosen as an acronym for NO(rth) MA(nchester) although that has not been confirmed.
