St Lawrence, Churchyard, Eyam
The plague struck the village of Eyam in 1665 (brought from London in some damp cloth). The village cut itself off to prevent it spreading, but even so 260 out of the village population of 350 died.

The tomb of Catherine Mompesson, the wife of the Reverend William Mompesson, and Thomas Stanley, William's ousted puritan predecessor, are to be found in the churchyard - see Link and Link
