Matlock Bridge
Road crossing of the River Derwent. The first stone bridge was built over or close to the site of a ford in the mid 13th century. A decision was taken to double the width of the existing bridge in 1903-4. The bridge was made one-way to traffic in 2007 and is listed as Grade II* by English Heritage.
