Evergreen trees below Farquhar Road, Crystal Palace
Evergreen trees below Farquhar Road, Crystal Palace
They look for all the world like Griselinia littoralis LinkExternal link . Being evergreen, perhaps they were planted as pollution-resistant shrubs in Victorian times, maybe later. They are thriving in this sheltered suntrap on a site that was presumably alongside the former Crystal Palace High Level station. It appears now to be car parking and a turning circle for the rehabilitation centre in Bowley Close off Farquhar Road. The bus is turning left into Crystal Palace Parade.
