The Badger, Church Minshull
The Badger, Church Minshull
Just before 4pm on a November afternoon, and the light is fading outside the Badger Inn, Church Minshull's village pub. It is rather smart inside nowadays, so it seems hard to believe that the establishment once hosted bare knuckle fights. The building dates from the late 18th century and was a coaching inn known as the Brook Arms - the two storey section was the coach house, later becoming a garage with a petrol pump. It is now the restaurant area.
