Lower west side of Hill Street, Emscote, Warwick
In the late 19th century it was a street of small terraced houses: SP2965 : West side of Hill Street, Emscote, Warwick. On the corner is the Elephant and Castle pub, known as the Simple Simon for a while – there was a pie factory up the road then. The block of six flats first appears on an OS map of the period 1968-71; it may be part of the Herald's Court development, accessed from Humphris Street.
