TM0715 : Foot ferry landing point / old speed limit sign, Mersea Stone

Foot ferry landing point / old speed limit sign, Mersea Stone
Foot ferry landing point / old speed limit sign, Mersea Stone
The sign is some way back from the shore now, a consequence of the fast growth of the spit into the Colne. There appears to be no special provision for the ferry, presumably it just noses up to the beach at an exact point best suited to the state of the tide. It operates in the summer only, to Brightlingsea and Point Clear.
