TM0715 : Flooded interior, Tudor fort site, East Mersea

taken 19 days ago, near to East Mersea, Essex, Great Britain

Flooded interior, Tudor fort site, East Mersea
Flooded interior, Tudor fort site, East Mersea
A scheduled Ancient Monument, but uncared for. A triangular earth-banked fort, with one apex seawards which has been washed away, enabling this view. The opposite side has been obliterated by the modern seawall and was presumably some way further inland if the described internal features were all to fit in.
