Lollesworth Farm
Lollesworth Farm
"Historic West Horsley half-timbered farmhouse purchased by Carew Raleigh, nephew of Sir Walter Raleigh, in 1629. Carew may have had the timbered part built as it dates from around the same time. The brick part dates from 1677 and replaced an older building. The surrounding area was part of the sub-manor of Lollesworth mentioned in the Domesday Book and owned by the Dane, 'Ketel the Hunter'."
