Castle Street, Reading
The building with columns is St Mary's Chapel. This was established in 1798 when its congregation broke away from that of St Giles's church. It was built on the site of the old county gaol where, it is said, John Bunyan was once imprisoned. The pub in front is The Sun. The tower of St Mary's church is behind. See SU7173 : The Sun Inn and St Mary's Chapel, Reading for a closer view of the chapel and pub.
