NT3171 : Fort Kinnaird

taken 12 years ago, near to Newcraighall, Edinburgh, Great Britain

Fort Kinnaird.
Fort Kinnaird.
"Fort" has come to mean big shopping centre of the tin sheeting kind, probably derived from Fort Dunlop , once a Birmingham tyre factory, now a mall. This one is on the A1 at the edge of Edinburgh, and has been generating traffic jams for several years now. Looking north to Fife across what must be a doomed stubble field. The mall or Malls, there are actually two, are built on old collieries.
