SO5269 : Red soil

taken 18 years ago, near to Ashford Carbonell, Shropshire, Great Britain

Red soil.
Red soil.
The country around Hereford is known for red cattle and heavy red soil. Here are some freshly ploughed fields, 20 miles north of the city. The hill is Titterstone Clee. Until recently we used the ruin as a hay barn.

The land has since been sold and is rented out as keep. It is no longer arable.
