Descending Sgurr Coire Choinnichean towards Inverie
Descending Sgurr Coire Choinnichean towards Inverie
Having ascended via rather featureless and pathless slopes above the Inverie River (our starting point being the Druim Bothy in Gleann Meadail) the summit of Sgurr Coire Choinnichean proved to be a spectacular viewpoint (as many Corbetts are), and the descent of the narrow SW ridge particularly enjoyable in late afternoon light. Although still 2km from the sea, Inverie seemed to be almost directly below our feet, 700m down, and the faint path continued to give excellent views over the Sound of Sleat to the small Isles as well as many other high peaks in the distance.
