The track leading to Swim Coots drainage mill is private, but permission for access will be granted when sought. The mill stands by a dyke on the shore of Hickling Broad, and the track leads through marshy reed beds. Sections of this track, which is also frequented by the herd of Welsh Ponies kept in the Nature Reserve, are very swampy.
