Scoopwheel discharge
Scoopwheel discharge
This shows water lifted by the wheel. The two mitre doors act like lock gates and close to prevent back flow when the wheel is stopped. A now unique sight in the whole of England. The Dutch have preserved some scoopwheel pumps.
