This is one of the replica mileposts being installed on the Montgomery canal. This is at the point where the canal branches from the Llangollen Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal. This milepost is on the right bank as you travel to Newton so the boater will see how far he has come and not how far he has to travel. Ideally this sign should be on the left of the canal as you travel to Newton.
