Froghall Wharf
Froghall Wharf
This was the original terminus is the Caldon Canal from Stoke on Trent and was the transhipment point for the local quarries and industry. The canal eventually fell into disuse but was restored and re-opened in the 1970s along with this warehouse building. When the canal first re-opened this building housed a tea room and shop and was the base for horse-drawn narrowboat trips. These have long since ceased and the building is now a private residence. This short stub of canal also seems to be again little used following the restoration of SK0247 : Uttoxeter Canal, Lock 1 and the re-opening of the lower basin.
