near to Kenilworth, Warwickshire, Great Britain

Chestnut time, Crackley Wood
Much of this woodland is sweet chestnut, so at this time of year be prepared for prickly seed cases and chestnuts from above! The seats are carved from the stumps of a felled tree (probably sweet chestnut) near the entrance to the wood from Crackley Lane on the right. Crackley Wood is mixed deciduous woodland nature reserve managed by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust who have commenced a coppicing regime. Species include oak, sweet chestnut, silver birch, ash and rowan.
