The former Hardley Cock public house
There is not much information about this pub which would seem to have closed a long time ago, apart from a record in Kelly's Directory mentioning a James Rustat, a beer retailer, having lived there in 1875. The property's current name is The Lupins. The farm on the other side of the road junction, now Boundary Farm, was known as Cock Farm in the late 1800s and is still marked as such on the 1945 OS survey map. Interestingly, its weather vane is a crowing cockerel > Link - presumably a survivor from Cock Farm.
