Thorndon Hall, Brentwood
Thorndon Hall designed by the architect James Paine was built in 1776 for Lord Petre. The grounds were landscaped by Capability Brown. The original Thorndon Hall was damaged by fire in 1878 and left derelict for a century. It is now a block of luxury flats.
