Ferry terminal, Belfast
Ferry terminal, Belfast
The terminal, at Donegall Quay, was built in the 60’s for the passenger services to Liverpool and Ardrossan. After their closure it lay empty before coming back into use for the ill-fated Belfast Car Ferries service to Liverpool. After its withdrawal another period of inactivity followed before being used for the “Seacat” high-speed services to Stranraer, Troon and Heysham. Those services have also succumbed. Now used only by the seasonal Steam Packet service to Douglas J3475 : IoM ferry at Belfast. Note added 12/08 - the 2009 service to the IoM is due to leave from the former Stena terminal at the Albert Quay. This terminal will have then have no sailings.
