Grazing Land and Disused Railway, Denford, Staffordshire
The railway track (on concrete sleepers) is still in place from Stoke, leading to Leekbrook Junction, then on to Caldon Low Quarry. I wonder if Tarmac are paying a "retainer" to leave this track in place, just in case! Passenger traffic ceased in 1965 and freight in 1988.
Update: The track has been bought by the Moorland and City Railways company in 2009. Steam trains from the Churnet Valley railway are using the track from Leekbrook Junction to Cauldon Low on selected weekends during 2011.
