SU3705 : Pony grazing on the heath east of Ferny Crofts, New Forest
3 km from Applemore, Hampshire, Great Britain

Pony grazing on the heath east of Ferny Crofts, New Forest
With the equinox passed almost a month ago and night-time temperatures dropping, autumn has arrived. The heather has lost its late-summer purple bloom and the heath is taking on its more usual brown colours. The trees in the background on the east side of Ferny Crofts are changing colour and losing their leaves - soon only the understorey of holly will be in leaf.
