Suckling piglets, Ravens Nest Inclosure, New Forest
Commoners' pigs are only permitted to be out on the open Forest during the pannage season (a set number of days in the autumn), where they perform the useful service of eating acorns that might poison the ponies. This sow and her piglets have been a feature on the verges of the B3078 between Brook and Long Cross, with many people stopping their vehicles to watch and take photographs.
