The road to Barkestone

Leaving Branston on the way to Barkestone you go down a steep hill into the River Devon valley. The river is not much more than a large stream here but the fields and pastures are picturesque. There is a bridleway leading off to the right in the centre of the picture which is the start of a popular circular walk. Note the cars parked at the bottom of the hill.
