J5949 : The Strangford Narrows
near to Portaferry, Ireland

The Strangford Narrows
The Strangford Narrows is the stretch of sea between Strangford (in the middle background) and Portaferry. It is subject to a very strong tidal current because of the large amount of water entering and leaving the partly enclosed Strangford Lough. The “Portaferry II” is undergoing her annual overhaul (left) while the “Strangford Ferry” approaches from Portaferry (out of sight to the right).
