was reputed to have been a dumping ground for priests in the past, I was told of one that was there because of Drink!!!! who would be of the habit of raising parishoners with a dire warning that the island was about to sink.

Now the diocese insists that every new priest spends time there. (As told on a visit in 1995 - could be tourist fodder so how reliable, I dont know)

I would heartilly recommend small Irish islands to all, funny this in the middle of mainland Clare.

Now for a nice cup of tea.
