This small hill near Ballacregga Farm is marked on maps as a Tumulus. The mound was excavated in 1928 and found to contain 2 graves built of coursed stone as well as a 'cist' containing incinerated bones. This may therefore be a transitional site from the Neolithic across to the Bronze Age, or perhaps the graves were much later - we will probably never know. The site is on the edge of the Flandrian cliff line overlooking the flat area of land known as The Ayres.
