Looking down Nelson Street
Looking down Nelson Street
In Newcastle City centre. This forms part of Richard Grainger's rebuilding of the city centre in the early Victorian period. On the right is the Grainger Market, and Grainger Street itself is at the far end. The left hand side of the street is only a façade, although original. The remainder of the buildings were demolished and replaced with part of the Eldon Square shopping centre in the 1970's.
