taken 16 years ago, near to Frongoch, Gwynedd, Wales

The Chipper
The Chipper
Salmon still run up the Afon Tryweryn to spawn, but are now prevented from travelling past Llyn Celyn by this grill across the river just below the dam.(called the Chipper) Instead, they are diverted into a fish trap, where their eggs are extracted and hatched elsewhere, and the young fish returned to the river.
