Empty Corral
Empty Corral
The empty corral is one of 42 erected Oct 07 by the Will Woodlands charity in an area of their Hazel Manor Farm estate. The charity's objects include "to secure and enhance the enjoyment by the public of the natural environment". The area where these corrals have been erected is one that had traditionally been used for the launching of unpowered hanggliders and paragliders before WW "secured" the estate. They have planted some 200 hectares of woods, but this area was never supposed to be wooded as wished by the locals who wanted to maintain a break in the wooded area at the crest of the mendips. These corrals serve no other purpose than as traps for unwary launching pilot. WW are not very charitable then! Chew Valley lake ST5659is in the background.
