The fine old building is one end of the former gun mounting department from when the yard built battleships rather than nuclear submarines. The site is now a real mixture of older buildings and more modern buildings, including the very new Central Yard Complex that cost £130 million and is part of the expansion to enable the new generation of missile boats to be built.
