SJ6503 : Arrival at Buildwas Power Station
near to Benthall, Shropshire, Great Britain

Arrival at Buildwas Power Station
The cooling towers of Buildwas Power Station loom over one of the first steam trains to arrive at the interchange sidings for the Power Station since it was built in the 1960s. The excursion from Tyseley is hauled by Ex-GWR Pannier Tank 9466.
The pink colour of the cooling towers was created by adding pigment to the concrete during construction. The objective was to minimise visual impact by blending in with the colour of the local sandstone!
