Site of 55 Ashbourne Road, Derby
Until quite recently there stood a beautiful old rectory on this site, which for a number of years was the home of Core Design (creators of the computer game "Tomb Raider") who immortalised the building as "Croft Manor" in their games. The old building would have lent itself quite nicely to conversion to apartments, but the local planners decided to let Radleigh Homes demolish it. In its place they are building purpose built apartment blocks instead. At least the new design pays a certain homage to the old building.
