Dunrod farm level crossing
Dunrod farm level crossing
A private crossing over the passing loop at Dunrod Farm. Note the bells to warn if the load is too high and the telephone to contact the signalling centre in Paisley before using the crossing. The crossing is used occasionally for moving farm animals across the tracks.

It's ironic that the only level crossing on this 10 mile long single track branch is on the only short section of double track. A similar crossing at Spango Farm one mile north was removed when that farm was demolished in the 1990s to make way for IBM's new call centre (see NS2374 : Former level crossing).

See the other side of the crossing here NS2273 : Dunrod Farm level crossing.
